  • ​Children should be heard read at home every day.
  • Homework will be set every Friday, and due back in on the following Wednesday.
  •  P.E. is on a Thursday and Friday, please ensure children have the correct kit and footwear.

This Half Term's learning!

Children will be learning key spelling, grammar, punctuation skills throughout the term alongside developing their writing composition.
This will be done through the use of the key text 'The Great Kapok Tree'.   


This term Year 5 children will be continuing with Singapore Maths, taught by Mrs. Bethell.

Year 6 children will be revising units, ready to sit their SATs in May.


How different will you be when you are as old as your grandparents?
(Animals, including humans) 
This half term we will be looking at the stages of growth in humans, different life expectancies for animals, puberty and classification.

Why should the rainforest be important to us all?  
This half term we will be looking at using maps to locate the main rainforests, the different layers of a rainforest, deforestation and the animals which live there. We will also be visiting Chester Zoo to learn about the conservation work happening to save the animals and rainforests.

 Do believes in karma, samsara and moksha help Hindus lead good lives?





Henri Rousseau​

Children will be working toward making a replicate of Henri Rousseau's picture - Tiger in a Tropical Storm.

How are carnival headdresses made?


Children will be researching, designing and creating their own carnival headdress, inspired by a chosen rainforest animal.






Children will be creating their own news report linked to their topic (Rainforests). They will be using Popplet, I can Animate and IMovie to create and present their reports.
