This half term's learning!

Children will be learning key spelling, grammar, punctuation skills throughout the term alongside developing their writing composition.
This will be done through the use of Key Texts linked to our topic. This term our key texts are The Pied Piper of Hamelin and You wouldn't want to be Guy Fawkes.

This term Year 5 children will be continuing with Singapore Maths, taught by Mrs Bethell.

Year 6 children will be developing their knowledge of place value, written methods for addition, subtraction, multiplication and division calculations, and fractions.

Can you feel the force?
This half term we will be looking at forces. Children will identifying and explaining the effects of friction, gravity and air resistance, and how levers, gears and pulleys allow a smaller force to have a greater effect.

​Why should​ gunpowder, plot and treason never be forgotten?
This term we will be looking at key events which occurred in the1600s. Children will be learning about the gunpowder plot, the English Civil war and the Great fire or London.

How far would a Sikh go for his/her religion?

We will be looking at Sikhism. Children will be learning about how Sikhs show their commitment to their god.

Our artist this term is Claude Monet, we will be looking at the cityscape of London he painted. and the style he used.
