Nursery & Reception

Children thrive through seven essential areas that are interwoven and vital for their overall development. Establishing three prime areas is crucial as they lay the groundwork for all learning. These prime areas include Personal, Social, and Emotional Development, Physical Development and Communication and Language. Once these foundations are strong, we can confidently explore the specific areas of learning, which encompass Literacy, Mathematics, Understanding the World and Expressive Arts and Design. By focusing on these interconnected areas, we empower children to reach their full potential.

Commitment to Early Education

The Early Years Team at Bridgewater Park is genuinely passionate about giving children an exceptional start to their school life. We offer engaging opportunities for children to explore their interests, setting the foundation for a successful future.

School Values and Environment

At our school, the values of kindness, integrity, and tenacity are woven into every aspect of our EYFS. We are committed not only to preparing our students academically for their future but also to nurturing them into their best selves. By fostering a safe, inspiring, and positive environment, we create a foundation for happiness, enthusiasm, and confidence in our learners. We believe that every child should be encouraged to dream big and excel in whatever path they choose, paving the way for a bright future.

Fostering a Love for Learning

We believe in empowering children to explore, take risks, play, discover, and create. Every small achievement is celebrated, as we aim to nurture a lifelong passion for learning in every child.

Forest School

At our school, the incredible HLTA, Miss Lee, leads engaging weekly Forest School sessions with the children. This unique program provides a holistic and learner-led curriculum, empowering children to explore, take risks, and solve problems while discovering their potential—all in a nurturing outdoor setting. Rain or shine, our Early Years children thrive outside, whether joyfully splashing in muddy puddles or carefully nurturing their plants and vegetables in our own vibrant garden. Join us in fostering a love for nature and learning!

Supporting Early Development

At Bridgewater Park, we believe that early childhood experiences fundamentally shape a child's future. The period from birth to age five is crucial, and providing every child with the best possible start in life is our top priority. By offering the necessary support, we empower children to reach their fullest potential.

Our dedication to excellence is reflected in our adherence to the Development Matters and EYFS framework. We craft fun, engaging, and educational activities designed to enhance learning and spark curiosity. Utilising our observation tool, Evidence Me, we systematically collect and document a child’s progress and learning moments throughout the year. This approach allows us to identify learning gaps promptly, enabling us to tailor our focus for the upcoming term and ensure every child thrives.

Nursery & Reception

Welcome to Our Exciting EYFS Class Page!

We are delighted to welcome a vibrant mix of nursery and reception children to our EYFS class! With the committed guidance of our class teacher, Mrs. Leponis, alongside our exceptional HLTA, Miss Lee, and our dedicated TA, Mrs. Collins, your child will flourish in a nurturing and supportive environment.

On Tuesdays, Miss Lee brings our lessons to life with engaging PSHE activities, while Mrs. Leponis ensures that every aspect of their education is carefully planned. Each morning, Mrs. Collins creates a warm and positive atmosphere, making learning an enjoyable experience for all. Your child’s journey with us promises to be enriching and fulfilling!

Don't forget, Wednesday is PE day! Please ensure your child wears the correct PE uniform, as it fosters enthusiasm for physical activity.

Homework and Reading Matter! Homework and reading materials go home on Mondays and are due back by Friday. We recognise that young children may need guidance, so we urge you to spend time with them daily. Discuss stories and pictures, and gradually encourage them to use their phonics skills to read. Be sure to log their progress in the reading diary provided; it makes a difference!

For any questions or additional support, please don't hesitate to contact the school office.

Thank you for partnering with us in your child’s learning journey!
