Our EYFS Curriculum
Curriculum Overview
Through our specially curated curriculum designed for both Nursery and Reception, we aim to prepare our children for Key Stage 1 (KS1) through a variety of engaging methods. Our curriculum is developed with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework and Development Matters in mind. At Bridgewater Park, we utilise Pathways to Write for our literacy lessons and Maths Mastery for our maths lessons.
Each half-term, our provision is centred around an overarching theme, with sub-themes changing weekly. We strive to update our classroom activities on a weekly basis to keep the children engaged and maintain excitement in their learning.
Our goal is to create a highly aspirational curriculum that equips children with the foundational knowledge they will need as they progress in their educational journeys. We carefully consider all the essential knowledge required for their transition from Nursery to Reception and then to KS1, ensuring it is presented in a meaningful and accessible manner. More information about our long- and medium-term plans can be found on our website (Both plans are adaptable, as we aim to follow the children's interests and modify our curriculum to suit each individual cohort as needed).
Lesson Planning and Provision
Every Monday, our EYFS team gathers to brainstorm and plan exciting educational activities that capture our little ones' interests. We’re all about helping every child, no matter their abilities, by providing just the right amount of challenge and support to help them thrive. Our activities change regularly to match the week’s themes and the children’s interests, making learning feel relevant and fun!
We take great pride in our friendly interactions and work hard to create a language-rich environment where every child can flourish. We can't wait to see all the amazing things our pupils will achieve on this joyful journey of learning!
